Tracy took in the overcrowded scene with a glint in her eye. What had once seemed like “The Impossible” was about to become “The Big Easy”.   Two years earlier, Tracy’s wandering gaze had caught her husband’s knowing eyes. They loved each other and the awesome life they had built together. Their family, their friends, their house, their cottage. It was nothing short of amazing! But Tracy was not one to settle and she was never afraid of new challenges. And so that one mischievous look set them on an exciting path to their next big adventure.   Tracy had heard about Resort Living from a friend. Surely, she thought, this was a concept for Florida, Texas or Arizona. Little did she know, at the time, that their research would lead them to Cherry Hill Living. Or that one investigative tour later their new lives would be set in motion.   Downsizing was not the main driving factor for these two characters. They were focussed on gaining the security and simplicity that would give them the flexibility and freedom to explore… and they were determined to take advantage of this opportunity with all the personal possessions they held dear. Now Tracy had lots of stuff so it was especially appealing to her that she could choose from home plans over 1000 square feet with options for garages, lofts, sunrooms, decks and more.   Regardless of the spacious options available to her, Tracy was determined to right-size . But how do you reduce a lifelong quest of collecting, hunting, coddling, amassing? HANG AROUND AND FIND OUT was her secret weapon.   Tracy moved into her brand-new Park Model home one year after that fateful glance with the man she loves. She brought with her the items she thought she couldn’t part with. Now, another year had passed, and Tracy anticipated her task for the day with a big grin.   You see, when Tracy originally loaded her resort-home closet, she made sure ALL the hangers faced the same direction. This was not because she was particularly fussy about such details, but rather, because she knew a day-of-reconning was coming. Throughout the past year, every time Tracy used an item from her closet, she returned it with the hanger in the opposite direction of its original placement.   Today, Tracy’s daunting task was easy. Cherry Hill Living is built upon land that was originally homesteaded by the Wiens family in the mid-1940s. Under the Homesteaders Act, settlers were granted title to land in exchange for occupancy and cultivation. The Wiens family worked tirelessly for generations, developing their farm and shaping the land into a thriving homestead. Sean and Janice Fehr A testament to their dedication, the family hand-built a barn in 1945 using poplar trees harvested from the property and milled on-site. This original barn still stands today, now serving as the Cherry Hill Living Clubhouse. Inside, the same sturdy timbers that once formed the backbone of the homestead remain visible, preserving a tangible connection to the past. An original sawmill blade, salvaged from the early days, is proudly displayed—an enduring tribute to the craftsmanship and perseverance of those who came before. ​ In 2000, the Fehr family acquired the property from the granddaughter of the original homesteaders. Over the past 25 years, with contributions spanning five generations, they have thoughtfully designed, built, and managed Cherry Hill Living. Their first priority was the careful restoration of the historic hip-roof barn, ensuring its rich history and character were preserved. Today, this beautifully restored structure blends handcrafted heritage with a welcoming western bar atmosphere and modern amenities. It remains the heart of Cherry Hill Living, anchoring the property as it continues to evolve. Now, the second generation of Fehrs, Sean and Janice, proudly call Cherry Hill Living home. Eighty-four  of you have been part of Cherry Hill for three years or more . And for that, we are incredibly grateful. Year after year, you have chosen to return—to spend your summers here, to build something lasting, and to be part of a community that is truly special. Together, We Have Created CHERRY HILL LIVING. Seventeen years ago, our family  invited your families  to join us. To take this place —this vision —these things —And transform them into something greater . And that is exactly what you did . 2024 - Year in Review Welcome to the 2024 Cherry Hill Living Site Holders’ Dinner. Tonight, we come together once again to celebrate the place we call home for the season—the place we have built together, year after year. What is Cherry Hill Living? Cherry Hill is more than just a location on a map. Yes, it is a place — 🏞 A beautiful place. 🌿 A peaceful place. 🔒 A private place. 🎉 And most of all, a fun place. But Cherry Hill Living is so much more than just a place . It is about what you do with this place . It is about how you make it your own . It is about the memories you create here —with family, with friends, and with an incredible community of people who share the same love for this special retreat. Honouring the Past, Celebrating the Present In 2022 , we marked a major milestone— 20 years of Cherry Hill Living . That year, we celebrated with seven of the original site holders  who had been with us since the very beginning. This year, we pause for a moment of reflection. We remember— with fondness and gratitude —some of those individuals who are no longer with us. Cherry Hill has always been more than a place to park an RV or build a deck. It has been a place where families gather , where laughter echoes through the trees , and where lifetimes of memories are made . It is an honour  to provide a space where people feel comfortable to spend their time , to connect , and to create lasting legacies . Good evening, and welcome to the Cherry Hill Annual Member Dinner. This year marks an incredible milestone— 20 years of Cherry Hill Living. A Journey Two Decades in the Making It all began in 2002 , when planning and construction started on Phase 1 —A vision that took shape in the form of 34 summer getaway sites  on the northwest corner of the lake . Just two years later , in 2004 , Cherry Hill welcomed its very first members. Among them were seven individuals and families who still call Cherry Hill home today . Over the past two decades, we have watched Cherry Hill grow and evolve , shaped by the vision, dedication, and community spirit of our members. As those original 34 sites  filled up, demand grew, and so did Cherry Hill. Phase 2 brought 32 more sites , bringing the total to 66 . And today, Cherry Hill has become a cherished summer retreat  for over 100 members —a place where families make memories, friendships grow, and time slows down, just enough to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Growth, Quality, and Commitment Cherry Hill Living is not just growing—it’s thriving . This summer alone, we’ve welcomed 24 new members  to the Cherry Hill community. Existing members have also invested in their Cherry Hill experience, with 18 members upgrading their units , leading to over $2 million  in new RVs and trailers added this year. But our biggest expansion came in 2018 , when Cherry Hill introduced 69 new sites with year-round access . This milestone brought a truly unique resort experience —a place where members can enjoy the best of year-round, park-model resort living . Staying True to Our Core Values As Cherry Hill continues to grow, we remain committed to the values that make this community special. 1. Cherry Hill Living is Peaceful & Private To enhance the exclusivity and security of our resort, we are introducing a new access control gate system  this fall. This system will feature credentialed member access  and a push-button guest entry control , ensuring that Cherry Hill remains a private oasis for its members. 2. Cherry Hill Living is Beautiful We take pride in maintaining the aesthetic and architectural beauty of Cherry Hill. Our detailed design and landscaping guidelines  continue to be updated to preserve the charm and appeal  of our community. 3. Cherry Hill Living is Fun! And fun  is exactly what tonight is all about!
